Gus Cochran has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. In 2017, they worked as a Law Intern at the United States Attorneys' Offices. Later that year, they became a Certified Student Attorney at Ramsey County, where they worked until 2018. In 2018, Gus had the opportunity to work as a Summer Associate at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP and as a Judicial Extern at the U.S. District Courts. In 2019, they served as a Certified Student Attorney at Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners (LAMP) before transitioning to a role as a Business Litigation Associate at Faegre Drinker. Their next position was as a Judicial Law Clerk at the U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota, where they worked until 2022. Currently, Gus is a Business Litigation Associate at Ciresi Conlin LLP.

Gus Cochran completed their education at various institutions. Gus attended Cotter High School & Junior High School, graduating in 2012. Following this, they enrolled at Loras College and obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice in 2016. Gus continued their education at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where they completed their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in 2019, graduating as the salutatorian.
