Gary Steele

Gary Steele is an accomplished executive with extensive leadership experience in the technology and cybersecurity sectors. Currently, Gary serves as the President of Go-to-Market at Cisco, following a tenure as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Splunk. Previously, Gary held the position of President and CEO at Splunk, overseeing a global team and fostering innovation through data connectivity. As the founding CEO of Proofpoint, Gary guided the company from startup to a leader in security-as-a-service, successfully managing its IPO. Additional leadership roles include CEO at Portera and Vice President and General Manager at Sybase, along with key positions at Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard. Gary holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Washington State University.
