Aj Olson

AJ Olson has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. AJ is currently working as the Vice President of Product Platform at Cision, a position they began in February 2022. Prior to that, they worked as part of the Mobile Strategy team at Cision from May 2021 to February 2022.

Before joining Cision, AJ Olson held various positions at Valassis, a marketing services company. AJ started as the Director of UX and Mobile in January 2016 and was responsible for leading a team of mobile and frontend engineers. AJ also played a key role in developing mobile SDKs, creating proofs of concept, and designing interactive prototypes. Later on, they became the Executive Director of Engineering, where they led multiple engineering teams and oversaw the development of consumer-facing sites and internal tools. AJ relocated from San Francisco to Austin for the integration of MaxPoint, a newly-acquired company. AJ'stenure at Valassis lasted from 2016 to 2021.

Prior to Valassis, AJ Olson worked at PayPal as a Senior Software Engineer from 2011 to 2014. AJ joined PayPal through the acquisition of Truvie Security, where they served as a Founding Engineer. At Truvie Security, they designed and built a user behavior monitoring system for merchant websites and developed predictive models for fraud detection.

Before their time in the financial technology sector, AJ Olson worked as a Senior Engineer at ohai, inc. in 2008. AJ also co-founded Rockstarted, LLC, where they built viral social gaming applications for various platforms and was later acquired by ohai, inc. AJ'searliest work experience dates back to 2006 when they worked as a Frontend Engineer at meebo.
