Vinay Malankad

Vinay Malankad is currently working as a UI Engineer at Citadel Securities starting from March 2022. Prior to that, they were a Principal Software Engineer (Front end) at Aaqua from June 2021 to March 2022.

From 2018 to 2021, Vinay worked at Bank of America where they held multiple roles including SWE III - JavaScript, VP, FICC UI Horizontal, and Assistant Vice President (UI). During their time at Bank of America, they were responsible for interface design and development of a real-time risk/PnL application used by traders. Vinay also focused on rapid application development using lean methodology, utilizing TypeScript for building stable applications at scale, and performance analysis and tuning of JavaScript-heavy applications.

From 2016 to 2018, Vinay co-founded Ola Search where they served as a Co-founder/Product Engineer, specializing in front-end development and machine learning. Vinay played a key role in product development, mentorship, and decision-making to achieve product goals and company vision. Vinay also developed JavaScript frameworks and SDKs for embedding search and chatbot interfaces on websites, with customizable UI interfaces.

Before Ola Search, Vinay worked at PebbleRoad as a Senior Front-end Strategist from 2013 to 2015. Vinay developed JavaScript applications and enterprise-grade websites using technologies such as React, Mithril, and React Native. Their focus was mainly on large-scale projects with over 2000 pages.

From 2011 to 2013, Vinay was the Founder and Front-end Developer at Artminister, a design studio specializing in web design and Expression Engine development. Vinay led the front-end track and content management development using CMS platforms like WordPress, Expression Engine, and Drupal. Their projects included collaborations with clients such as Canon, SMA, and the National Library Board.

Vinay also has prior experience as a Front End Developer at Germs Digital from August 2010 to November 2010, and at VMLY&R from August 2008 to July 2010. At VMLY&R, they worked on projects for clients like Sony, Asean, Via Singapore, and Tiger. Vinay developed internal front-end best practices, created guidelines and style guides in collaboration with designers.

In addition to their professional experience, Vinay also founded Hireme.sg Singapore in 2008 and worked as an Intern Analyst at Accenture from January 2007 to June 2007.

Vinay Malankad completed their education in a chronological manner. Vinay began their academic journey at Singapore Polytechnic, where they pursued a Diploma in Mechatronics. This program lasted from 2001 to 2005. After completing their diploma, they furthered their studies at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. From 2005 to 2008, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with a major in Infocomm.
