Brian F. Wagner

Brian F. Wagner, SPHR has extensive experience in the field of human resources. Brian F. is currently serving as the SVP, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at City First Bank since July 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of VP of Human Resources, Performance Management, Employee Engagement + Executive Search at EagleBank from September 2020 to July 2021.

From March 2020 to September 2020, Brian worked as the SVP, Senior HR Business Partner at BBVA, USA + Performance and Talent Management. Before that, they served as the Head of Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, and Employee Experience at BBVA in the USA. During their time at BBVA from May 2017 to March 2020, Brian was responsible for leading talent acquisition efforts and acting as a talent advisor to senior leadership.

Prior to joining BBVA, Brian worked at BB&T from July 2013 to May 2017 as the VP - Senior Talent HR Partner/Advisor, Leadership Development, and Executive Coach. Brian F. also held the role of Regional Employment Talent Leader, Consultant & HR Manager at BB&T from January 2010 to July 2013.

Brian's career began in 1998, where they gained experience as a Regional Training Manager, General Manager, and Branch Manager at various companies until October 2009. Throughout their career, Brian has demonstrated a passion for leadership development and has contributed significantly to the success of the organizations they have worked for.

Brian F. Wagner, SPHR completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Management at the University of South Carolina in 2004. Brian F. then went on to pursue a Master's degree in the same field at the same institution, graduating in 2005. Brian also holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI, which they obtained in June 2016. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in HR as a Business Partner from LinkedIn in September 2022.
