James Brannon, M.S., CISSP has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology and security. James is currently working as the First Vice President and Information Security Officer at City National Bank since 2014. Prior to this, they had their own consulting company called Brannon Consulting Solutions, LLC where they provided IT and security services to federal and state agencies. James was also the Chief Information Officer at West Virginia Primary Care Association where they oversaw health data aggregation and analysis to improve quality of care. Additionally, James has experience as an Information Security Officer at WVMI and Quality Insights, where they managed security initiatives and oversaw federal contracts. James has served in the Army National Guard and worked as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Charleston Area Medical Center Health System.

James obtained a Master's degree in Information Technology Management and Information Security from Marshall University, where they also completed a Graduate Certificate in Information Security. James also holds a Bachelor's degree in Regents Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia State University. Early in their education, James received an Associate's degree in Applied Physics, Nuclear Medicine from West Virginia State University.
In addition to their formal education, James has obtained several certifications. James earned a Graduate Certificate in Information Security from Marshall University in December 2013, and they became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in February 2012, through the institution (ISC)2.
