Sonnet Gravina currently serves on the Planning Commission for the City of Amsterdam, New York, since January 2023. Previously, Sonnet has held roles as a Program Research Specialist at the New York State Education Department since May 2020, and prior to that, progressed from Program Research Specialist 1 to Program Research Specialist 2. Sonnet's experience in education includes serving as Mathematics Faculty at Fulton-Montgomery Community College and College of Eastern Utah/Utah State University from 2009 to 2020. In the fitness sector, Sonnet worked as a Certified TRX and POUND instructor at Hosner Fitness from 2015 to 2020. Additionally, Sonnet held the position of President at the Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation from January 2019 to January 2020 and was a Managing Partner at Algonquin Restaurant from 1993 to 2002. Academic credentials include an Associate of Science in Mathematics from Adirondack Community College, a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University at Albany, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Utah State University.
