Tony Martinez Jr

Tony Martinez Jr has several years of experience in communications, marketing, community affairs, and project management. Tony currently serves as the Director of Communications for the City of Aurora. Prior to this, they were the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County from 2018 to 2021. Tony also worked as the Director of Community Affairs for the West Aurora School District 129 from 2014 to 2018. Tony has experience in production management as well, having worked as a Production Manager at Compass Automation from 2012 to 2014. In addition, Tony has held roles such as Community Relations Facilitator at Aurora East School District 131 from 2010 to 2012, and Project Manager at Allstate Insurance from 2007 to 2010. Tony has also served as Vice President of the Aurora Puerto Rican Cultural Council from 2008 to 2010. Tony started their career as a Customer Service Manager at USA Athletic Club and Spa from 2002 to 2007, and they gained marketing experience as a Marketing Intern at Aspen Marketing Services in 2005.

Tony Martinez Jr's education history begins in 2000 when they attended Marmion Abbey/Academy for high school. After completing high school in 2004, they went to Aurora University for their bachelor's degree in Marketing, which they completed in 2008. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Aurora University from 2008 to 2012, specializing in Leadership.
