Samantha D. Nelson

Samantha D. Nelson has a diverse and extensive work experience in finance and administration. Samantha D. most recently worked as the Director of Finance for the City of Bend, a position they have held since July 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Finance Director for the McMinnville School District from January 2021 to May 2023. Before that, Samantha held the position of Director of Finance and Operations for the Gladstone School District from June 2015 to January 2021. Samantha D. also has experience working for the City of Fairview, Oregon, where they served as both the City Administrator from June 2012 to June 2015 and as the Finance Director from July 2008 to June 2012. Samantha began their career as the Finance Director for the City of Independence from April 2007 to June 2008. Prior to their work in the public sector, they worked as an Office Manager for Independence-Monmouth Family Medicine, LLC from October 1993 to April 2007.

Samantha D. Nelson completed their education with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Willamette University in 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English/History from Western Oregon University between 1990 and 1993. Samantha also obtained a high school diploma from Puyallup Senior High School in 1989.
