Charlton Carscallen

Principal Planner/supervisor - Heritage at City of Brampton

Charlton Carscallen is an experienced professional in the field of archaeology and heritage management, currently serving as Principal Planner/Supervisor - Heritage at the City of Brampton since September 2021. Previously, Charlton held positions as Project Archaeologist and Senior Heritage Specialist at Archaeological Research Associates Ltd. from August 2020 to August 2021, and as Manager of the Cultural Resource Management Department at AECOM from December 2007 to March 2020, overseeing a team in conducting archaeological and heritage assessments. Earlier roles include Ontario Region Manager and Regional Archaeologist at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, where responsibilities included implementing archaeological and heritage programs and consulting with First Nations. Charlton began the career as a Partner and Senior Archaeologist at AFBY Archaeological & Heritage Consultants from May 1997 to March 2003. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology (Archaeology) from Trent University.
