Sarah VanWormer has held various positions throughout their work experience. Sarah started their career in 2001 at the City of Battle Creek, Michigan, where they gained experience as a GIS Specialist and later became a GIS Administrator. From there, they transitioned to the role of Data and Web Services Administrator before ultimately being promoted to IT Director. In 2016, they took on a new opportunity as the Varsity Volleyball Coach at Comstock High School. Most recently, in 2022, they joined the City of Brentwood, Tennessee as the Technology Director.
Sarah VanWormer completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Environmental Systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County from 1997 to 2001. Sarah then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, studying from 2009 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, Sarah obtained additional certifications including MSP CJI Security Awareness Level 4 from the Michigan State Police in March 2019, and a Certificate of Completion - Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp from Data Science Dojo in April 2017.
