Carlos Vega

Carlos Vega is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in community development and municipal management, currently serving as the Community Development Director for the City of Cooper City since November 2015. In this role, Carlos leads the development of strategic operational roadmaps and fosters a top-performing workforce while conducting comprehensive research on various community-related studies. Carlos has also served as the Interim City Manager, overseeing day-to-day operations and collaborating with elected officials to enhance city services. Previous positions include Acting Building Director, where organizational strategy and compliance were prioritized, and Building Administrative Specialist, focusing on local business tax and permitting processes. Earlier experience includes working as a Project Manager Assistant and Estimator at Reyes-Gavilan Consulting Engineers/Mega Electric Inc., where Carlos honed project management skills. Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida Atlantic University and an Associate of Arts in General Education from Broward College.
