Brian Dehner's work experience begins in 1984 as the General Manager of A & N Sports Specialties, where they oversaw the day-to-day operations and managed accounting functions. From 1994 to 2005, they served as a Public Administration Specialist at the Northern Kentucky Area Development District, where they worked on organizational development issues and conducted studies for multiple cities and departments. In 2005, they became the City Administrative Officer for the City of Ludlow, responsible for planning and implementing city functions. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as the Customer Service Manager at Sanitation District 1, managing operations and financial reporting. From 2013 to 2014, they were the Municipal Market Manager at Trivaco, working with water and wastewater industry accounts. Since 2014, they have served as the City Administrative Officer for the City of Edgewood, overseeing all city functions and managing a budget of $13 million with 85 employees.

Brian Dehner attended Northern Kentucky University from 1985 to 1992, where they obtained a BA in Organizational Communications. During their time at the university, they also pursued a minor in Accounting.
