Nisar Ahmed

Nisar Ahmed is a seasoned professional in the field of transportation technology and data management, currently serving as Principal and Traveler Information Technology Manager at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission since May 2007. Nisar leads initiatives focused on regional mobility data and technology, enhancing transportation mode choices in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior roles include Associate/Senior Program Coordinator for the Regional Traveler Information Program, where Nisar developed a streamlined data collection system for the 511 SF Bay transit system. Additional experience includes serving as Commissioner for the Fremont Mobility Commission and various leadership roles at Caltrans, Psomas, Inc., and bd Systems, Inc., where Nisar managed GIS application development and traveler information system projects. Nisar holds a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
