Amy Shoults Rosenthal has a diverse work experience in the arts and cultural sector. Amy Shoults started their career at the Dallas Children's Theater, where they served as the Public Relations Director, Development Associate, and Teaching Artist in Residence for 11 years. During this time, they developed and implemented PR and marketing campaigns for the organization and managed all media relations. Amy Shoults also coordinated a community service project and played a role in a capital campaign.
In 2006, Amy joined the City of McKinney, where they held the position of Director for the McKinney Performing Arts Center and McKinney Main Street. Over the years, they took on progressively responsible leadership roles and became the Director in January 2014. Their responsibilities included collaborating with public and private partners to promote the Historic Downtown McKinney Cultural District and welcoming millions of visitors annually.
In 2022, Amy Shoults Rosenthal joined the City of Garland as the Cultural Arts Director, where they currently work.
Amy Shoults Rosenthal has a BFA degree in Theatrical Performance & Production from The University of Texas at Austin.
