Ken Wood is an experienced fire service professional currently serving as Fire Chief for the City of Helena, Montana since April 2019. Prior to this, Ken held the position of Assistant Fire Chief at the Helena Fire Department from October 2013 to April 2019, where responsibilities included managing training and operations programs. Ken's firefighting career began in 2000 as a Firefighter AEMT/Lieutenant for the City of Helena, following earlier roles, including Assistant Fire Chief at the West Helena Valley Volunteer Fire Department and various positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana, overseeing customer service and micrographics operations. Ken's background also includes military service as a 35K Avionics Mechanic in the Montana Army National Guard.
