Claudia Main began their work experience in 1994 at Siecor, where they worked in customer service until 1996. Claudia then joined the City of Hickory in 1996 and held several roles, including Organizational Development Coordinator and Employee Relations Manager. In their various positions, Claudia was responsible for overseeing and promoting the City's Total Quality Management/Customer Service Program, conducting in-house training, and reviewing employment law for compliance. Claudia also conducted reclassification and compensation studies. Claudia's most recent role at the City of Hickory was as the Human Resources Director, a position they held since 2015.
Claudia Main completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University in the years 1981 to 1987. After that, they pursued a Master's of Public Administration degree in Public Management from the same university, from 1988 to 1990. Additionally, Claudia obtained a certification as a Certified Professional in HR from the International Personnel Management Association in June 2007.
