Amanda Bennett

Amanda Bennett is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in public relations, crisis management, and digital marketing. Currently serving as Communications Manager for the City of Highland Park since February 2020, key achievements include leading the communications response to the Highland Park shooting in July 2022 and directing a successful COVID-19 communication strategy that increased community engagement significantly. Previously, as Marketing and Communications Manager at Waukegan Public Library, Amanda achieved notable growth in community interactions and social media engagement. Amanda also founded Creating Iris, a nonprofit advocating for LGBTQ+ representation in young adult literature, and has provided marketing consulting for various businesses and organizations. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Political Science from Northwestern University.
