Bridget Susel has a diverse work experience in various roles related to community development and grant administration. Bridget started their career at Summit County, Dept. of Development as a Support Services Administrator, where they administered community development and housing programs funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Bridget then worked as the Executive Director at University Park Development Corporation before joining Coleman Professional Services as a Grants Administrator, where they wrote proposals and secured over $780,000 in grant support for the organization. Bridget went on to work at the City of Kent, Ohio, where they served as the Grants & Neighborhood Programs Administrator, overseeing community development and housing programs. Bridget eventually became the Interim Community Development Director and later the Community Development Director, managing multiple divisions and collaborating with stakeholders on commercial projects and economic development programs. Overall, Bridget has a strong background in community development, grant administration, and project management.
Bridget Susel earned a B.A. in English from Cleveland State University in 1991. Bridget then pursued a Masters degree in Public Administration from The University of Akron, completing it from 1993 to 1995. In terms of additional certifications, Bridget obtained a Mortgage Loan Originator License from the State of Ohio, Department of Commerce, NMLS in May 2011. Bridget also acquired the Certified Economic Development Finance Professional certification from the National Development Council (NDC) in December 1999.
