Johnna Matthews

Johnna Matthews is an accomplished planning professional with extensive experience in urban planning and development. Currently serving as the Planning Manager for the City of La Porte since July 2023, Johnna previously held the position of Planning and Development Services Director for the City of Glenn Heights, TX, from September 2022 to August 2023. Prior roles include Principal Planner for the City of Mesquite, TX, from May 2017 to September 2022, and City Planner/Department Head for the City of Pearland, Texas, from September 2013 to January 2016. Johnna also served as Senior Planner for the City of Denton from July 2007 to September 2013, and held various positions in non-profit organizations and educational institutions. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning & Urban Studies from Michigan State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Jackson State University.
