Herbert Cole

Herbert Cole, CEM, currently serves as the Emergency Manager for the City of Livermore since September 2017. Prior experience includes roles as an Emergency Management Specialist at the University of California San Francisco from September 2011 to September 2017, and as an Emergency Management Consultant at San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District from 2006 to August 2012. Notable earlier positions include Associate Director/Senior Project Manager at AT&T from 1999 to 2010, and IT Executive/Web Developer for companies such as IDSC and Telefonaktiebolaget L.M. Ericsson from 1996 to 1999. Cole's career began at State Farm Fire and Casualty Company as a Senior Claim Representative from 1990 to 1996, and included a position as a Securities Cashier/Broker Trainee at Charles Schwab in 1989-1990. Educational credentials include a B.A. in Economics and Law from California State University, Bakersfield, a Certificate in Emergency Management from Western Washington University, and various certifications from FEMA and other institutions.
