Joseph Toney

Joseph Toney currently serves as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Malibu, a position held since May 2022. Prior to this role, Joseph was the Director of Administrative Services for the City of Simi Valley from April 2019 to May 2022 and held various leadership positions at the County of Santa Barbara from 2012 to 2019, including Assistant Director and CFO of General Services and Deputy County Executive Officer. Earlier experience includes serving as a Budget and Policy Analyst for the City of Long Beach and a Field Organizer during the Maryland State Midterm Elections. Joseph's educational background includes a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of San Diego.
