Laura LaLiberte has over 15 years of work experience in various roles related to architecture, urban planning, and community development. Currently, they serve as the Community Improvement Director at the City of Miami Gardens, where they strategically manage a $60M General Obligation bond for construction projects and oversees the implementation of e-Permit software. Laura is skilled in construction project delivery methods and has experience with federal and state grant funding. Previously, Laura worked as the Architecture and Urban Design Coordinator at the City of Hollywood, where they managed a grant program and facilitated compliance with building design standards. Laura also served as a Research Assistant at Florida Atlantic University, working on transportation studies, and as a Teaching Assistant at Florida International University, leading discussions and grading quizzes. Prior to their roles in the public sector, Laura gained valuable experience as an Architectural Designer at Elements Architects, where they worked on school renovations and bank branch designs, and as a Graduate Architect at Studio 7 Architecture and Clifford M. Laura LaLiberte, AICP AIA LEED AP, holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Florida Atlantic University (2009-2011) and a Master of Architecture from Florida International University (2007-2009). Laura obtained their Bachelor of Architecture (1999-2004) and a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Design (1999-2004) from Ball State University.
