Alecia Young has a diverse work experience in different roles and organizations. Alecia started their career as a Summer Intern at the Minnesota Section PGA of America in 2009. Alecia then worked as an Assistant Women's Golf Coach at Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2008 to 2010. After that, they interned as a Tournament Services Intern at PGA TOUR in 2010.

In 2011, Alecia joined the City of Minneapolis as a Human Resources Associate until November 2011. Alecia returned to the City of Minneapolis in 2013 and held two roles there. Alecia served as an FMLA Coordinator from January 2013 to September 2018, and later as an HR Benefits Specialist starting from September 2018.

Before joining the City of Minneapolis, Alecia worked as the Marketing and Membership Director at Burl Oaks Golf Club from January 2012 to January 2013.
