Michael Douglas

Michael Douglas has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Michael currently serves as the Deputy Director of Communications at the City of Minneapolis, where they assist in developing and implementing communication plans and initiatives. Michael also plays a key role in coordinating and analyzing communication efforts across the organization. Prior to this, Michael worked as a Media Relations Coordinator at the City of Minneapolis, supporting community safety initiatives and violence prevention efforts.

Before joining the City of Minneapolis, Michael worked as a Freelancer, gaining experience in media, corporate communication, and project management. Michael has worked with various media organizations and stations, including WXIA-TV, WSB-TV, The Weather Channel, and WLS-TV, among others. During this time, they fulfilled multiple roles, such as writing, reporting, producing, and supervising new employees and interns.

Michael also has experience in academia, serving as a Manager of Division of Research & Innovation Marketing & Communications at Prairie View A&M University Research and as a Media Relations Specialist at Prairie View A&M University. Michael additionally worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Kansas School of Business.

Michael's career includes involvement with organizations such as the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), where they served as a Convention Program Producer and Student Project Volunteer. Michael also worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Jackson State University and as a Multi-Media Reporter at KTRE.
