Dawn Baker, MSW, SHRM-SCP has over 30 years of work experience in HRD and Learning & Development. Dawn is currently the Director of Learning & Development Solutions for the City of Minneapolis, where they lead a team of 5 HRD professionals and is responsible for talent development strategy, leadership development, organization development, succession planning, workforce planning, change management, learning, and employee engagement. Prior to their current role, Dawn worked at Medica Health Plans as the Director of Learning and Development and Talent Management. Dawn has also held positions at UnitedHealth Group, where they were the Senior Manager of Training Development and a Senior Account Manager. Throughout their career, Dawn has excelled in implementing initiatives to optimize employee performance and improve organizational effectiveness.

Dawn Baker, MSW, SHRM-SCP, has a strong educational background in the field of psychology and human services management. Dawn obtained a BA in psychology from Bellarmine University, where they studied from 1974 to 1979. Later, they pursued further education and earned an MSW (Master of Social Work) from the University of Minnesota, specializing in Human Services Management. This degree was obtained between 1984 and 1986.

In addition to their formal education, Dawn Baker has also obtained several certifications in various areas. Dawn became a Leadership Vision Certified Strengths Communicator and a PROSCI Certified Change Practitioner in 2019. In 2013, they completed the InsideOut Coaching program offered by InsideOut Development. Previously, they acquired expertise in Behavioral Analytics (2007) and the MBTI Type indicator (2006). Furthermore, they underwent training to become a Wilson Learning Leader Training Facilitator in 2001.
