Ondara Nyang'au has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In 2002, they began their career as a Senior Accountant at zain Kenya, where they worked until 2006. From 2006 to 2010, they served as a Regional Finance Manager at KPMG East Africa, focusing on revenue and income growth, financial modeling, and restructuring. In 2009, they became a Founding Member of Novelty Consulting Ltd, where they provided strategic consulting, advised on business formation and structure, and supported databases and reporting software until 2011.

From 2011 to 2019, Nyang'au joined the Army National Guard as a finance professional. During this time, they also held accounting and finance roles at Hennepin County Medical Center, Alliance HHCNS MN, and Metropolitan State University, gaining experience in accounting operations, financial management, and strategic planning. In 2013, they became the Managing Partner at StateOne Logistics, specializing in freight forwarding, project logistics, and relocation services tailored to customer requirements. Currently, Nyang'au serves as the Manager of Accounting at the City of Minneapolis, a position they started in 2020.

Ondara Nyang'au's education history includes multiple degrees from various universities. In 2001 to 2004, they attended Oxford Brookes University where they obtained a Bsc in Applied Accounting with a field of study in Accounting & Finance. They later attended Bethel University, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance, General. Ondara also completed another Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Bethel University, this time paired with an MA in Strategic Leadership, specializing in Finance and Strategic Leadership. Additionally, in 2012 to 2013, they attended Metro State University, studying Finance and Economics, although it is unclear if a degree was obtained during that time. Lastly, between 2016 and 2017, Ondara pursued another Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Bethel University, specializing in Finance and Strategic Leadership.
