Darren M. Morton Ed.d, Cprp, Cmfo

Darren M. Morton, Ed.D, CPRP, CMFO serves as the City Comptroller for the City of Mount Vernon since January 2012, overseeing financial management and a budget exceeding $148 million. Additional roles include Treasurer for the Industrial Development Agency and Urban Renewal Agency, and Chief of Staff for the Office of the Mayor, where responsibilities included enhancing government operations. Morton has also held positions as Commissioner of Planning and Community Development and Commissioner of Recreation, focusing on urban development and recreational services. As Senior Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church since 2011 and an adjunct assistant professor at The College of New Rochelle, Morton provides spiritual and academic leadership. A seasoned administrator, previous roles include Associate Vice President of Student Affairs at St. John's University and Executive Director at Prince Hall Colonial Park Daycare. Morton obtained a Doctor of Education in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University and has a strong background in educational management and community development.
