Uma Sarmistha

Uma Sarmistha is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in planning, research, and education. Currently serving as a Senior Planner for the City of Newberry since April 2023, Uma has also held the position of Senior Planner at the City of Palm Bay from July 2022 to April 2023. In addition to these roles, Uma has contributed to academia as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Florida since August 2015. Earlier in the career, key roles included Data Scientist at LeaderLync and Research Scientist at the Loss Prevention Research Council. With a strong foundation in sociology and economics, Uma holds a PhD in Sociology from Kansas State University and a Master's degree in both Sociology and Economics.
