Carrie Hite has a strong background in parks and recreation management. Carrie is currently serving as the Director of Parks Strategy at the City of Port Townsend since April 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as the Parks and Recreation Director at the City of Redmond, WA from August 2019 to March 2022. Before that, they held the position of Director, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services at the City of Edmonds, WA Parks from January 2011 to July 2019. Carrie started their career at the City of Kirkland, where they served as the Deputy Director, Parks and Community Services from January 2001 to January 2011.
Carrie Hite obtained their Bachelor's degree in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies from Western Washington University, where they studied from 1981 to 1985. Later, they pursued further education and achieved a Master's degree in Social Work, Administration from the University of Washington, completing their studies from 1988 to 1990.
