Megan Barnes

Megan Barnes is a seasoned communications professional currently serving as the Senior Administrative Analyst and Public Information Officer for the City of Rancho Palos Verdes since March 2019. Prior experience includes reporting for the Southern California News Group from July 2014 to March 2019, where coverage spanned crime, courts, city government, and education across multiple publications. Megan's journalism career began with roles at the San Pedro Beacon and San Pedro Today, and included contributions to EDGE Media Network, focusing on LGBT and HIV stories. Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Art History with a minor in Professional Writing from UC Santa Barbara, earned between 2005 and 2009.
