Karla Almendarez- Ramos

Karla Almendarez-Ramos is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in community engagement and outreach, currently serving as the Manager of the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Engagement for the City of Richmond, Virginia, since September 2016. In this role, Karla develops strategic partnerships, collaborates with stakeholders, and oversees human services programs while ensuring effective service delivery to immigrant communities. Prior to this, Karla worked as a Multicultural Outreach Specialist at the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, where marketing strategies and public communications were developed for diverse populations. Karla also contributed as a board member for Nueva Vida, a support network for Latinas with cancer, and held administrative roles in various organizations, including AEC Engineering, where executive administrative functions were performed.
