Umesh Dalal

Umesh Dalal is an accomplished auditing professional with extensive experience in municipal government roles. Since February 2018, Umesh has served as the City Auditor for the City of Denton, focusing on enhancing accountability and transparency within the local government. Prior to this, Umesh held the position of City Auditor and Inspector General (Director of Internal Audit) for the City of Richmond since March 2006, overseeing audits across various city agencies and managing high-profile investigations aimed at preventing fraud and abuse. Umesh's earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Internal Audit for the City of Arlington, where responsibilities encompassed comprehensive audit programs and strategic risk management, as well as managing internal audit functions as City Auditor for the City of Tempe. Umesh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Physics from Bombay University.
