Olesya Powers

Olesya Powers, GISP, possesses extensive experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with roles in various organizations since 2010. Currently serving as a GIS Analyst for the City of Rockwall and holding multiple leadership positions within URISA Texas since 2016, including Chairman of the Board and President, Olesya has demonstrated a strong commitment to the GIS community. Previous roles include GIS Specialist at NewEdge Services, LLC, and GIS Analyst and Technician at the City of Mesquite. Olesya began a career in GIS as a cartographer and has worked with organizations such as WWF-Canada, University of Toronto, and Toronto Environmental Alliance. Olesya holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Physical and Environmental Geography with a focus on GIS from the University of Toronto, along with further specialization in cartography from Fleming College.
