Elizabeth Castañeda has a robust background in public information and communications, currently serving as the Public Information Manager for the City of San José since July 2010. Previously, Elizabeth held the position of Public Information Representative for the Library within the same city. Elizabeth's experience includes serving as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Latino Leadership Alliance from January 2020 to December 2021, and working as a Communications Coordinator for the San Jose Downtown Association from January 2008 to December 2012. Earlier in their career, Elizabeth contributed as a Special Projects Coordinator for Pre-College Programs at San Jose State University from January 2007 to July 2008. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations with a minor in Spanish from San Jose State University, where studies were completed from 2001 to 2006, following high school at William C. Overfelt from 1997 to 2001.
