Julie McLean, P.E. has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Julie began their career at CES Inc. in 1989 as a Project Engineer, where they managed various water and wastewater projects in Maine. Julie'sresponsibilities included planning, design, and construction, as well as overseeing environmental assessments and landfill closures. In 1997, Julie joined Woodard & Curran as a Project Manager, where they worked until 2002. During this time, they gained experience in managing projects. From 2002 onwards, they joined the City of Savannah, Georgia, initially serving as a Senior Civil Engineer before being promoted to City Engineer and Senior Director of Development Services. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing code enforcement, public and private development projects, and ensuring the safety of the built environment. Throughout their career, Julie has successfully managed significant infrastructure projects, including a wastewater treatment plant and critical workforce shelter, among others.
Julie McLean, P.E. obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine from 1985 to 1988. Prior to that, they studied Engineering at Lehigh University from 1982 to 1984.
In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Level II Certified Design Professional certification from the Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission in 2012. In 2004, they earned a Certificate of Local Government Management from the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute. Julie became a Georgia Professional Engineer in 2002 through the Georgia Secretary of State, and earlier in 1993, they obtained a Maine Professional Engineer certification from the Maine Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
