Thomas Pinder Jr. has a diverse work experience in the field of public safety and emergency services. Thomas began their career in 2002 as a Firefighter with the City of Kirby, Texas, and steadily progressed to the role of Shift Captain by 2012. In 2014, Thomas briefly served as a Patrol Officer with the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office.
In 2015, Thomas joined the City of Seguin as a Fire Inspector and Fire Investigator, where they conducted fire inspections, investigations, and plan reviews. Thomas also assisted with Incident Action Plans and Emergency Management during EOC activations. Thomas held this role until 2018.
Since 2018, Thomas has been working as the Division Chief/Fire Marshal for the City of Schertz. Their responsibilities include interpreting the Fire Code for developers and contractors, conducting plan and plat reviews, and performing fire inspections. Thomas also oversees the community outreach program and assists with prevention budgeting under the guidance of the Fire Chief.
Thomas Pinder Jr. began their education at Weatherford College in 2015 where they pursued a degree in Fire Services Administration. Thomas completed their associate's degree in this field in 2017. Following this, Thomas enrolled at Texas A&M University-San Antonio in 2017 and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Fire and Emergency Services Administration in 2019. Alongside their education, Thomas also acquired a number of certifications including Evidence Collection Tech from the International Association of Arson Investigators in October 2019. Additionally, they have aspirations to become an Advanced Peace Officer, Master Arson Investigator, Master Fire Inspector, and Master Structural Firefighter, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are unknown.
