Catherine Ammons

Catherine Ammons SHRM-SCP has extensive experience in human resources and city management, currently serving as Assistant City Manager for the City of Valdosta since May 2018. In this role, Catherine assists the City Manager in overseeing daily operations, providing guidance to Department Directors on policy and budget matters, and managing various administrative projects. Prior experience includes roles as Deputy City Manager of Administration and Director of Human Resources for the City of Valdosta, where responsibilities encompassed managing benefits, drafting personnel policies, and employee relations. Previous positions also include Director of Human Resources at Hershend Family Entertainment and the Department of Labor & Training, and Executive Director of Human Resources at Jack Welch Management Institute. Catherine holds multiple degrees, including a Doctorate in Business Administration focused on Human Resources Management, and has a strong background in organizational leadership and public administration.
