Joe Hurst

Joe Hurst has extensive experience in municipal governance and city planning, currently serving as Mayor of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas since June 2010, where Joe also held the position of Planning Director. Prior to this, Joe worked as a City Planner for the City of El Dorado, Arkansas from February 2007 to June 2010, and as an Assistant City Planner for the City of Rogers, Arkansas from 2005 to 2006. Additionally, Joe contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor of MPA Public Budgeting at Southern Arkansas University during 2007-2008. Joe Hurst holds a Master of Public Administration in Local Government from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Ouachita Baptist University.
