Michael Hammes

Michael Hammes, AICP, serves as the City Planner for the City of Vandalia, Ohio since November 2022, previously holding the same position in the City of Moraine, Ohio from April 2001 to November 2022. In these roles, Michael has managed strategic and land use planning, project management for significant residential developments, legal analysis for code and zoning compliance, and the update of municipal emergency response and strategic plans. Additionally, responsibilities include serving as staff liaison to the Planning Commission and volunteer boards, overseeing municipal cemetery operations, and holding budgetary authority as a department head. Michael holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Dayton.
