James Bang

James Bang, Ec.D., serves as the Senior Economic Development Officer for the City of Vaughan since August 2018, focusing on fostering entrepreneurship, business, tourism, art, and culture. Previously, James held the position of Economic Development Officer at the County of Simcoe from July 2015 to August 2018, working on business attraction, retention, and expansion across the county’s municipalities. James also contributed as a Consultant for Foreign Direct Investment with Toronto Global from April 2013 to July 2015, facilitating opportunities for businesses in the Greater Toronto Area. Earlier experience includes serving as an Economic Development Officer at the Southeastern Aurora Development Corporation from April 2012 to March 2013. James Bang holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Economics with a Public Policy specialization and a minor in Sociology from the University of Waterloo, along with a Certificate in Economic Development from the same institution.
