Cynthia Martinez

Cynthia Martinez is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in municipal law, currently serving as the Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Yakima since February 1998, where responsibilities include advising city departments and the City Council on constitutional and criminal law matters and managing the Prosecution Division. Additionally, Cynthia held the position of Interim City Manager during a transition phase while the City Council searched for a permanent manager. Prior experience includes serving as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Tacoma from 1994 to 1998. Cynthia's educational background includes a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law, a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Societies, and Justice from the University of Washington, and various leadership certificates from the Northwest Women's Leadership Academy and the International City/County Management Association.
