Veronica Formosa-Hamilton MCIWM is an experienced waste management professional currently serving as the Principal Waste Management Officer (Contracts & Strategy) for The Highland Council since August 2022, where Veronica leads the development of waste service strategy and policy. A Chartered Waste Manager with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) since April 2016, Veronica contributes to high professional standards within the industry and coordinates professional development initiatives. Previous roles include Partner (Recycling) at Zero Waste Scotland, Waste Disposal Team Leader at Stirling Council, and various positions at Perth & Kinross Council, where Veronica managed teams and developed waste-related projects. Veronica holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Social Ecology from the University of Tasmania and a Post Graduate Certificate in Environmental Systems Markets and Climate Change from the University of New England.
