Niels Koenekoop

Niels Koenekoop is a civil engineer with extensive experience in various roles within the engineering sector. Currently serving as a Coordinating Advisor for Technical Management at Rijkswaterstaat since April 2024 under CLAFIS Ingenieus, Niels has previously worked as a Contracts Advisor at Antea Group Nederland and as a Civil Engineer at BK ingenieurs, where responsibilities included project preparation for Civitas Advies & Van Gelder Integrale Projecten. Niels began a significant tenure at Grontmij Nederland (now part of Sweco), holding positions as a BIM Advisor and Civil Designer, focusing on the organization of BIM processes and the engineering of wastewater treatment facilities. Niels started in the field with an internship at Strukton Civiel. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology and earlier studies at Hogeschool INHOLLAND and Mendelcollege Haarlem.
