Daniel Francis

Chief Technology Officer at Claria Medical

Daniel Francis has a diverse work experience in the medical device industry. From 2000 to 2002, they worked as an R&D Engineer at LuMend, Inc. Following that, they worked as a Fellow at Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign in 2002-2003. Then, they joined Cierra, Inc. in 2003 as a Sr. R&D Engineer, where they conceptualized a novel medical device for closing a common heart defect. From 2007 to 2017, at miraDry, Inc., they held various roles including R&D Project Manager, Director of R&D, and eventually Vice President of R&D. Their responsibilities involved the full project lifecycle, from product development to commercial launch. In 2018, they took a travel and personal sabbatical before becoming a Medical Device Research and Development Consultant in 2018-2019. Currently, they serve as the Chief Technology Officer at Claria Medical.

Daniel Francis attended Albuquerque Academy from 1991 to 1996. After completing high school, they went on to study at Stanford University from 1996 to 2000, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Subsequently, they pursued further education at Stanford University from 2000 to 2002 and obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
