DeAngelo Newson has worked in local and commercial kitchens ranging from fine-dining Italian restaurants to a national fraternity. He has worked across the country and cooked for celebrities including Drake, Mario Batali, and Emeril Lagasse.
Since the age of 12, DeAngelo knew he was going to be a chef. His grandfather was a huge influence, teaching him how to fish, hunt, and then prepare a fresh meal with produce from the garden. DeAngelo turned down seven basketball scholarships to attend Le Cordon Blue of Culinary Arts.
In his role as ClarkLindsey’s Executive Chef, he plans, organizes, and leads the Culinary department. He is responsible for overseeing the kitchen and assuring the highest standards for health, sanitation, and safety necessary in food handling and overall cleanliness. He produces, maintains, and executes top-quality food experiences by ensuring menus, recipes, methods, and specifications are followed correctly.
