Steven Pacheco has worked in the defense and security sector since 2005. Steven began their career in the US Marine Corps, where they served as Detachment Commander/Operations Officer from 2005 to 2009. During this time, they led and advised 500+ Marines and managed $79M worth of equipment at six sites providing critical communications system/network support for OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM combat operations across Al Anbar Province, Iraq. In 2009, they moved to the US Pacific Command as a Joint Communication Systems/Cyber Planner, where they were responsible for Communication Systems and Cyberspace planning to support U.S. Pacific Command operations and exercises. From 2012 to 2015, they worked in the US Marine Corps as a Cyber Capabilities Integration Officer/Program Manager. In 2015, they joined By Light Professional IT Services as a Task Lead Defensive Cyber Operations/Cyber Planning Subject Matter Expert and Joint Cyberspace Operations Planner. In 2019, they moved to Clear Ridge Defense as Director, Cyberspace Operations Planning | SME, CYBERCOM Subject Matter Expert, and Cyber Operations Planner/SME.
Steven Pacheco has obtained four degrees. Steven holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, a Command and Staff degree from Marine Corps University, a Master of Science (MS) in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and Spanish from the University of New Mexico School of Engineering.
