Payel Gupta, MD, FACAAI

Dr. Payel Gupta has extensive work experience in the field of allergy, asthma, immunology, and ENT. Since January 2022, they have served as the Medical Director of Allergy, Asthma, Immunology, and ENT at LifeMD. In October 2020, Dr. Gupta co-founded Cleared, where they held the position of Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer. At Cleared, they played a crucial role in developing a website, portal, and platform for virtual patient consultations across 50 states, as well as creating an at-home test kit for allergies. Dr. Gupta's involvement in the medical field extends beyond their clinical roles. Payel co-hosted The Itch Podcast starting in February 2019 and worked as a Medical Advisor & Editor for Zestfull since September 2020. Additionally, they have been a Clinical Instructor at Mount Sinai Health System since January 2020 and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center since January 2017. Dr. Gupta has also contributed to the American Lung Association as both a Faculty Member and Volunteer National Spokesperson. Early in their career, they gained experience as a Physician Reviewer at Imedecs, MES Solutions, and MCMC LLC, starting in 2015, 2014, and 2013, respectively.

Payel Gupta, MD, FACAAI completed their education and training in several prestigious institutions. Payel earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology and Religion from the University of Michigan in 2000. Following that, they attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2004.

Dr. Gupta then pursued a residency program in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at Rush University from 2004 to 2008. This comprehensive training provided their with a solid foundation in both medical fields. Subsequently, they further specialized in Allergy and Immunology by completing a Fellowship at the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University. This fellowship lasted from 2008 to 2010.

Dr. Gupta has also achieved board certifications in multiple areas of medicine. Payel is a Board Certified Allergist and Immunologist by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Additionally, they hold board certifications in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, respectively.
