Kelly Cone has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. From 1998 to 2000, Kelly worked as a Waiter/Bar Back at Huisache Grill. In 2003, Kelly became a Dance Instructor at Austin Lindy Hop, where they developed the curriculum and taught Swing and Lindy Hop classes. Simultaneously, from 2003 to 2005, Kelly also worked as a Student Intern at the SOA Technology Lab at The University of Texas at Austin, assisting with software deployments, technical troubleshooting, and operating the printers and plotters.

From 2008 to 2013, Kelly served as the Innovations Director, focusing on leveraging BIM beyond design and integrating it into estimating, coordination, scheduling, and other workflows. Subsequently, Kelly became the Director of Virtual Design and Construction from 2013 to 2016, leading the Virtual Building Group and expanding it into a national team.
Since 2016, Kelly has been working at ClearEdge3D, initially as the Vice President of Product Management, responsible for shaping the features and functionality of Verity and EdgeWise. In this role, they helped define product strategy, development priorities, go-to-market strategies, and business models. Most recently, Kelly serves as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) since April 2022, focusing on strategic positioning and leading the company's overall strategy.
Kelly Cone has an education background in architecture. They obtained a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree from The University of Texas at Austin from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies degree from the same university from 2000 to 2004. Kelly Cone also attended New Braunfels High School from 1996 to 2000.
