Vanessa Lopez

Vanessa Lopez has worked in the laboratory industry since 2014. Vanessa began their career as an Intern at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, followed by roles as a CGMBS Trainee, Laboratory Assistant, and Laboratory Technician at Sequenom. In 2017, they joined Sequenom Laboratories as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CGMBS) where they performed DNA extraction, genomic library preparation, multiplex PCR, library normalization, and clustering flow cytometry, Next-Generation Sequencing, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, genotyping, and data analysis. In 2021, they joined ClearNote Health (formerly Bluestar Genomics) as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

Vanessa Lopez obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology from San Diego State University from 2010 to 2014. Vanessa also holds a MB (ASCP) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), which they obtained in May 2017.
